At the Irish Senior Citizens Parliament, we stand in full solidarity with the public sector workers currently taking industrial action across Ireland.

For older people across our communities, strong public services are not a luxury—they are a lifeline. From healthcare staff and home care teams to local authority workers, these individuals care for our elders and keep our society running smoothly. They deserve fair pay, dignity in the workplace, and working conditions that reflect the vital role they play every single day.

We urge the Government to return to meaningful negotiations immediately and secure a fair deal that protects both our public servants and the crucial services our older citizens rely on.
