Irish Senior Citizens Parliament Welcomes Scrapping of Prescription Charges
The Irish Senior Citizens Parliament welcomes the announcement by the Minister for Health James O’Reilly T.D. that he plans to drop the .50cent prescription charges.
The Irish Senior Citizens Parliament agrees that the charge is a deterrent that may prevent many medical card holders from getting their very essential and necessary medication.
Speaking today, Mairead Hayes CEO of the ISCP said “I look forward to genuine engagement with Minister Reilly on the many critical health issues of concern to Older People and their families. We wish him well in his appointment and put him on notice that we will be monitoring closely all policies, actions and developments over the coming months”.
