National Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced person for the exciting role of National Coordinator, interested in leading out on the vision of the Irish Senior Citizens’ Parliament and committed to supporting and developing the voice of older people as key contributors to policy development.
The Aim of the Parliament is to give:
- A voice to older people on the issues which affect the quality of their lives
- To work for improvement in the living standards of Older People
- To represent Older People's issues to Government
- To seek to influence policy development affecting Older People
Role Overview
Key responsibilities:
- Manage overall operations, to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
- Lead the development of the organization's long and short-term strategies
- Oversee the management of currently funded programmes and the development of new collaborative initiatives to support older people's rights and well-being.
- Work with the membership base to build capacity through workshops and information sessions.
- Oversee the financial, fundraising and general administration tasks.
- Provide strategic leadership by managing operations aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategy.
- Collaborate with the membership base to enhance their capacities through workshops and information sessions.
- Partnerships: Collaborate closely with our strategic partner ALONE to synergize efforts and achieve our shared objectives.
Essential requirements for the post include:
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience managing a national organization or a minimum of 5 years of senior management experience.
- Strategic Planning: Demonstrated experience in coordinating and administrating the implementation of strategic plans, operational plans, and grant aid agreements.
- Team Management: Proven ability to manage and support staff members.
- Partnership Building: Track record of building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to form lasting and productive partnerships.
- Advocacy: Direct practical experience in advocating for people's rights in various settings.
- Social Justice: Strong understanding of social justice and equality issues.
- Governance: Knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Media Representation: Experience representing an organization at the national level across various media channels.
Desirable: Third level qualification in Social Policy or Applied Social Science or relevant field.
Location: This is a full-time position based at the office of our strategic partner, ALONE. We also operate a hybrid working policy.
Salary: €60,000
