Government approves the restoration of the THE INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS PROVISIONS IN RESPECT OF PENSION ENTITLEMENTS OF RETIRED WORKERS BILL 2021 (THE BILL)

The Bill was passed to third stage, by the DAIL in October 2024. This was just before the 33rd DAIL was dissolved and prior to the November general election.

We have campaigned heavily since the 34th Government was formed, to have the Bill reinstated at the earliest opportunity. We are pleased to announce that the Motion restoration of Private Members Bill came before the DAIL on May 1st and was passed.

The Bill is now reinstated and we have written to the Chair of the Joint Committee to have it progressed as soon as possible.
